Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta

Join Us on the River

The Dad Vail Regatta is the largest regular intercollegiate rowing competition in the United States, welcoming more than one hundred colleges and universities from across North America. For Aberdeen, the event represented a high-visibility platform to connect with a driven, performance-oriented audience. I led the development of a cohesive campaign spanning environmental design, print and digital collateral, and motion assets to ensure a unified and elevated brand presence across every touchpoint.

Creative Direction

With thousands of athletes, coaches, alumni, and spectators in attendance, the regatta offered a rare opportunity to engage a concentrated community defined by discipline, ambition, and teamwork. The challenge was to stand out in a visually crowded environment while positioning Aberdeen as a credible, distinctive partner across both physical and digital touchpoints. The creative direction drew from the precision and momentum of rowing, using a clean, structured layout system that echoed the rhythm of the sport. Bold typography and dynamic compositions conveyed movement and strength, while the booth environment and supporting materials—including signage, invitations, and video—worked together to create a confident, cohesive visual presence that commanded attention without overwhelming the setting.

The Impact

The sponsorship established a strong and memorable on-site presence, elevating brand visibility throughout the event. By aligning environmental, print, and motion design under a singular creative direction, Aberdeen’s activation felt intentional and integrated—strengthening brand perception and driving meaningful engagement with attendees.
